Atlanta Event: Reduce the Risk of a Failed Startup – Lessons from the Field

Pam Slim in Atlanta

Regator is proud to be a sponsor of Pam Slim’s August 15 Atlanta event, where she’ll be giving her valuable insights into creating successful startups. Startups aren’t easy. Don’t let anybody who threw together a $30 million website in 15 minutes during the dot-com boom tell you otherwise. Regator just celebrated its first anniversary and it’s been a year of little failures and successes, of tremendous hope and bothersome doubt, and most of all, of damn hard work 24/7.

Escape From Cubicle NationPam Slim is a entrepreneur, coach, and author who has been through it and come out the other end with the wisdom and knowledge that can only come from first-hand experience. We hope you’ll join us at this special seven-hour interactive event organized by Mike Schinkel of Atlanta Web Entrepreneurs. (Mike’s a valuable asset to Atlanta’s startup community and is also hosting two meetings on the new ATDC on August 20.) Pam will be hitting topics such as selecting and evaluating business ideas, building a personal brand, replacing the need for a large budget with focused effort, building a supportive team, and managing doubts and fears. If you have or are thinking about starting your own business, there’s no doubt it’s going to be a valuable use of your time. She’ll also be signing copies of her acclaimed book, Escape From Cubicle Nation, based on her popular blog of the same name.

You can win FREE registration to the event by (what else?) tweeting about it. Here are Mike’s rules: For every 25 people who tweet something compelling or at least interesting (why you want to attend, why you should get a free ticket, etc.) about this event using the #pamslimatl hashtag, we’ll select one at random to attend for free. If your tweet is world class in some way, we reserve the right to pick you instead of picking at random! Winners will be announced via @atlantaweb. If you’ve already paid, you’ll get a refund, so go ahead and RSVP. There’s a lot more information on the AWE Meetup page and at PamSlimInAtlanta.com. We hope to see you there!
