Get some Regator gear and send the team to exhibit at Blogworld!

by Kimberly Turner on September 24, 2009

blog-world-expoHow would you like to buy some stickers, buttons, shirts, consulting, or other fun Regator paraphernalia in order to support three hard-working bootstrapped Atlanta entrepreneurs? Have we got a deal for you…just chip in what you can to help Team Regator exhibit at Blogworld and New Media Expo and you will not only get the Regator merch and/or consulting services listed below but will also be the recipient of our eternal gratitude. We know what you’re asking…

Why do you need to exhibit?
Regator is about blogs. Blogworld is the only industry-wide trade show for the blogging and new media communities, so it’s an important event for us. Last year, we attended. This year, we plan to exhibit. We have a new iPhone app to promote, and our web traffic is growing 40 percent month-on-month. Continuing our current momentum is absolutely vital in order to stay competitive and reach the tipping point that will make Regator THE go-to place to find quality blog content. We will use our Blogworld booth to spread the word and demonstrate the usefulness of Regator to all who pass by. Hurrah!

BootstrapBookWhy do you need money?
Regator is, as many of you know, a bootstrapped company. And trade shows are, as many of you know, not cheap. The Blogworld booth itself costs $2,700 and that’s without Internet, electricity, mandatory insurance, mandatory floor coverings, mandatory labor costs, session passes, A/V equipment, furnishings, signage, merchandise, etc. This adds up quickly.

How are you going to spend my money?
siegfried_roy_tigerWe want to be clear on this. The funds you provide here will be used ONLY to fund Regator’s Blogworld and New Media Expo exhibit space and the contents of said exhibit space (listed above). It will NOT be used to buy drinks for Team Regator. It will NOT be used for lavish dinners—or any kind of dinners for that matter. It will NOT (sadly) be used to make bets on whether Team Mashable can swim across the fountains of the Bellagio. It will NOT be used for our hotel or other personal expenses. It will NOT be used for slot machines, prostitutes, sequined white-tiger-print jackets a la Siegfried and Roy (see above), Cher tickets, or any other Vegas accoutrement. Airline tickets were very generously donated by Ben and Celia Dyer of TechDrawl, so your pledge/purchase will not go toward airfare either.

What do I get when I donate?
You will be acknowledged on this blog in some graphy type of format that will indicate how much you gave and that you are a good person worthy of acknowledgement and envy. We know people like that sort of thing. You will also receive the following:

Pledge $1 to $19 to get Regator stickers, our eternal gratitude and a place on our graphy thing.
Pledge $20 to $49 to get a set of three different Regator buttons (plus aforementioned eternal gratitude). We can even customize them for you.
Pledge $50 to $99 to get a Regator t-shirt, a set of Regator buttons, and aforementioned eternal gratitude.
Pledge $100 to $199 to get aforementioned t-shirt, buttons, and gratitude PLUS free entry for two into Regator’s next event (note: we don’t know when/what this event will be yet)
Pledge $200 and above to get everything listed above plus your choice of one of the following:

  1. the-wrestlermama-mia-poster-3Full written review of your blog by Kimberly Turner, Regator’s editorial director and experienced journalist. The review will cover content, design, usability, and more and will provide you with tips on improving your blog as well as her thoughts on your blog’s strong points.
  2. One-hour session with a member of Team Regator (again, probably Kimberly) to discuss strategies for getting your product covered by bloggers, effective press releases, etc.
  3. Something made especially for you by Team Regator. This could be cupcakes, homebrewed beer, a pom-pom model of our gator mascot, or something else (reasonable) of your choosing.
  4. A DVD of “The Wrestler” and/or “Mama Mia.” Yeah, we’ve just got those sitting around. We’ve got one of each. Call dibs if that’s what you want.

Convinced? (Man, I hope so ’cause that’s about all we’ve got.)
Please contribute now!
