Bass Opener Is Tomorrow!
It's 2AM on Opener Eve and I'm not sure what I'm going to do just yet. I was thinking about trailering the boat and starting from shore at the GOMH. I think we are still gonna be mostly pre-spawn in this area. Hopefully after I'm on the water today I'll have a plan. Show More Summary

This morning I got out to the GOMH around a quarter to 5AM. It was windy and drizzling out of the NE. The water has come up near last years high water mark with all the rain fall we have had. I got a jumpin bullhead, then I got this little golden bullhead on the North side. Show More Summary

I arrived after it stopped raining at the GOMH around 8PM. I started fishing the NE side were the wind was blowing in pretty good and all I could get were jumpers. Platte Lake Ice Out 2013!!!

If you enlarge the picture you can see ice on the right hand side of the picture. The ice that is left is in the North bay. You can get from the public access to Jenny's, so that makes it official ice out for me.
Rock Lake looks to be at least a couple of days away yet I would say it was maybe 10% open. Show More Summary

I got my first Silver Bullhead of the year tonight. Only one though. Got it on a Red/White 1/64th T.H.E. Jig with a minnow..
