I'm Still Processing The Possibilities In A State Of Semi-Disbelief

I didn't Vikings blog last week because I thought the Vikes had a more than even chance of losing the game to those Dirty Birds. The D stepped up big time and Case was good enough yet again to get the victory. Another minor upset last week, in my opinion, was the Sea Chickens beating the Eagles. Show More Summary

What Was Your Best Fishing Moment of 2017?

Thanks to Facebook's "On This Day" feature I was reminded of a blog I did answering this same question posed by Wired2Fish back in 2010. So I thought I'd do it again for this year. There were a lot of great moments for me to choose from in 2017. Show More Summary

The Incomplete Case of Case Keenum

3 weeks agoHobbies / Fishing : Bass Pundit

The national media all seem to be on the "Case Train" with the win over the Rams last Sunday. In the Teddy vs. Case debates that took place prior to Sunday, I was pretty solidly in "Camp Case." The guy has performed well and deserves to be the Vikings starting QB for now. Show More Summary

Ice Fishing Goals Winter '17-'18

3 weeks agoHobbies / Fishing : Bass Pundit

Winter has come to Minnesocold! It looks like we are in for a long one this year. I thought I would do something I haven't done before and come up with some goals for my ice fishing this season. Doing such a thing hasn't really entered my mind before, at least not since I started blogging. Show More Summary

Next 3 Weeks Pivotal for the Vikings

My Vikes come off the bye and enter the second half of the season with a two game lead over both the Packers and the Lions. I've pretty much written off Green Bay at this point. I recon they are playing the Bears this week for which team finishes last in the division and I don't like the Packers prospects. Show More Summary

How Long Until Safe Ice In the Platte/Sullivan Area?

That is the question for today. With all the snow we have been getting around here water temps have to be getting pretty close to locking up Platte, Erskine, Long and Bulldog. I doubt it happens today because at 3AM it's right at freezing outside and it's supposed to warm up to 36 degrees today. Here is the forecast for the next week plus. Show More Summary

Trophy Is Out Of The Lake

Should have taken it out yesterday. Dad didn't want to do it today either, but I was worried the lake might lock up tonight, so we got it done. For some reason the motor didn't want to give me the power to drive on the trailer, so I had to wind it on with the winch. But when I went back to run the gas out of the motor, it seemed to be back to running right again????.

October Was Comme Ci, Comme Ca

Have I caught my last open water bass of the year? Probably 18.25" Hack Jig/Craw Fatty Oct.29th I was super exited about fishing this October, but the weather had other plans. It was too windy, too wet and too unstable for me to get on much of anything. Show More Summary

Mike Zimmer's Defense is must watch TV.It would have been interesting to see how the Packers game turned out had Rodgers not gotten injured. But ole A Rog did get injured. I am so sad about that I could almost cry, Not!With #12 out of the picture it looks like the Vikes now have to be favorites to win the Division. Show More Summary

In case some of my readers are not aware, I was a huge fan of Adrian Peterson. So much so that I actually got his jersey. Then came the incident where he physically abused his child. I thought the NFL punishment ended up being unfair to the whole Vikings organization. Show More Summary
