On Sept. 15, 2011, 30-year Ohio State booster Bobby DiGeronimo confirmed to Bill Lubinger of the CLEVELAND PLAIN DEALER that he facilitated cash payments to three current Ohio State players - from envelopes distributed at a Cleveland-area charity event - on Feb. 19, 2011.
(Private access to then-current Buckeyes available in 2008 - at the right [...]
Three months ago an anonymous source alleged to ESPN that Dennis Talbott, a Central Ohio-based businessman with a sudden, new-found love for photography, “made at least 35 payments to [Terrelle] Pryor in 2009 and 2010 for signing memorabilia, for a total payout of between $20,000 and $40,000.”
(Banned By Ohio State, Talbott Now Employing Northern Exposure) [...]
Earlier this week I reported that current Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller was at the 2011 charity event hosted by rogue OSU booster Bobby DiGeronimo.
(Then-Ohio State high school recruit Cordale Jones top-right)
Miller signed with Ohio State roughly three weeks before the fundraiser though he had already enrolled at the school when he made the [...]
EXCLUSIVE: In his Ohio State debut against Akron two weeks ago, freshman Buckeye quarterback Braxton Miller passed for 132 yards and a touchdown in OSU’s 42-0 shutout of the Zips.
After the game, Ohio State head coach Luke Fickell was asked if he planned to continue both playing Miller and fellow quarterback Joe Bauserman, who started [...]

In the Sept. 1, 2011, report to the NCAA from Ohio State that resulted in the suspensions of Buckeye football players Jordan Hall, Travis Howard and Corey Brown, OSU reported that the violations were “discovered” by the school on “August 31, 2011.”
As of Sept. 13, 2011, Terrelle Pryor’s last Tweet was … wait for it [...]
EXCLUSIVE: Ohio State football players Jordan Hall, Travis Howard and Corey Brown remain suspended after the school recently reported to the NCAA that the three received $200 each - from envelopes - at a Cleveland charity event last February.
(Smith in ‘08: Non-compliant at same event Buckeyes were paid in 2011)
As part of its report [...]
Running back Isaiah Crowell was as celebrated a signing as Georgia football coach Mark Richt has experienced since he arrived in Athens.
(Will Crowell refusal to give up #1 cost speedster Smith offensive touches?)
But if the man charged with mapping UGA’s game plan Saturday against South Carolina is right, Crowell may actually be speeding Richt’s Georgia [...]
Akron football coach Rob Ianello scolded rookie Ohio State football coach Luke Fickell at midfield after the Buckeyes shutout the Zips 42-0 today in Columbus.
Moments before the customary postgame handshake between the coaches, Fickell chose to run out the clock with three consecutive running plays with Ohio State running back Carlos Hyde as the ball [...]
During the USC football team’s practice on Thursday, the Trojan scout team wore jerseys designed to resemble arch rival UCLA.
The powder blues were used during a scrimmage in which the scout team impersonated the offense and defense of USC’s opponent this Saturday.
That opponent? Minnesota.
Though USC doesn’t play UCLA until November 26, USC coach Lane Kiffin [...]
Nobody does college football telecasts like ESPN, but when you broadcast as many games as ESPN, mistakes happen. Like last night. During the ESPN telecast of the Wisconsin-UNLV college football game in Madison, Wisconsin, ESPN showed a shot of a downtown skyline as announcer Rece Davis pitched the broadcast to break. The shot was supposed to be [...]
T-Town Menswear, of course! (You actually had to ask?)
The above photo and accompanying caption, “Julio getting pumped up for the game!“, was uploaded to the now-deleted Facebook account of disassociated Alabama booster and T-Town Menswear owner Tom Al-Betar on September 4, 2010 - the same day Alabama played San Jose State at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Just two days before the Trojans’ opener against Minnesota, USC announced today that assistant football coach Willie Mack Garza had resigned his position.
USC’s official statement:
USC secondary coach Willie Mack Garza has resigned for personal reasons.
“I stepped down today from my coaching duties at USC,” said Garza, who was in his second year at USC. [...]
Before he deleted both of his Facebook accounts last month, Alabama booster and T-Town Menswear owner Tom Al-Betar published several photos to one of those accounts in an album titled, “beforeduke game me and my boys fitting there suit.”
The photos show Al-Betar, ex-Alabama football player Julio Jones and current Crimson Tide star Trent Richardson outside [...]
The honorable folks at Ohio State remind you that at tOSU, cheaters (who we throw under the bus after our coverup is foiled by a Yahoo Sports reporter) never prosper.
Unless of course they beat Michigan with star players they know to be ineligible - then we enshrine them on a wall of the Ohio State [...]
Nick Saban wasn’t at Trent Richardson’s 2010 birthday party.
Though you can’t say the same for disgraced Alabama football booster and Tuscaloosa suit store owner Tom Al-Betar.
Al-Betar can be seen in multiple photos, now-deleted from his former Facebook account, enjoying yet another evening at a Tuscaloosa Japanese steakhouse with Richardson - this time perhaps as party [...]
The 2010 opening of the new Auburn basketball arena was a triumph for the school’s athletic department.
But Auburn Athletic Department staff layoffs during the transition from the Beard-Eaves Coliseum to the new facility has precipitated an ugly dispute now scheduled to play out in Federal Court.
Of the 11 employees who lost their Auburn Athletic Department [...]
In 10 1/2 years of operating SbB, I’ve never been sued or been faced with any serious legal action. None.
(Texas Tech rep IMG fired legal guns 72 hours after SbB’s BCG revelations)
Over the years I’ve reported on Texas Tech quite a bit - especially as it pertains to Mike Leach, and more recently, Tommy [...]
Cal’s 2010 football recruiting class was so impressive that it earned Golden Bear assistant coach Tosh Lupoi Rivals.com’s “National Recruiter of the Year” award.
(Report: Cal offered “mentor” a job after delivering recruits to Lupoi)
Lupoi’s award was due in large part to signing three top prospects from the Greensboro, North Carolina area that year: Keenan [...]
Six days before Christmas, on Dec. 19, 2003, Otis Yelverton filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in a North Carolina Federal Court.
Listing himself as “self-employed” with a monthly income of $4800.00, creditor claims totaled $989,628.36 against Yelverton at the time.
13 months later Yelverton filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy in a North Carolina Federal Court, with the [...]
