Francis Coquelin has signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal and will spend the upcoming season with Lorient in France's Ligue 1.
Arsenal signed the 19-year-old in 2008.
While the Frenchman's first-team chances have been limited, manager Arsène Wenger has indicated that Coquelin will have chances as he develops.
Coquelin, who plays defensive midfielder and right-back, will spend the entirety of the 2010-11 season on loan at Lorient, who sold Laurent Koscielny to the Gunners this summer.
