Michelle Obama to help build D.C. playground

First Lady Michelle Obama will visit a Southeast Washington charter school to help build a playground. Mrs. Obama and other volunteers will join a nonprofit called KaBOOM! that works to give children places to play. The group promotes outdoor play as a critical component of children’s physical, intellectual and emotional development. The playground being built Wednesday at Imagine Southeast Public Charter School is the 2,000th that KaBOOM! has constructed around the country in the past 15 years.
