More Thunderstorms Later Today, But Sunny On Saturday

Thanks to that 5 a.m. thunderstorm, we didn't need our alarm clock this morning. Three quarters of an inch of rain fell in that deluge, making today the rainiest day of the month. More showers and thunderstorms are expected later today as a half-dead occluded front slowly makes its way eastward across the region. By itself the front doesn't look like much of a weather maker but, as you may have noticed, the air mass it is displacing contains gobs of moisture.
