"WAG" simply means "wives and girlfriends."
The connotations associated with that acronym is that these women are hangers-on or gold-diggers.
But the truth is, many wives and girlfriends of athletes put their partners to shame with their fame and riches.
What we're trying to say is that sometimes – OK, all the time – it's the WAGs wear the pants in the relationship.
