Box Office: The Lion King Re-Release Reigns
Three new releases hit the box office this weekend, but it was Disney's re-release of its 1994 animated film The Lion King that took the number one spot. The 3D version of the movie earned $29.3 million, making it the first re-release since Return of the Jedi to win the box office. Contagion dropped to the number two spot, bringing in $14.5 million, while newcomer Drive pulled in at number three with $11 million.
