Virginia’s General Assembly got a mocking shout-out on “Saturday Night Live” last weekend for recent anti-abortion legislation.
The House of Delegates and Senate passed bills requiring women to get an ultrasound before an abortion. If the pregnancy is in its earliest stages, the ultrasound would be the more intrusive transvaginal variety rather than an external test, abortion rights activists have said.
