I have a pretentious, unbearable Facebook friend who actually made a good point the other day: This year's Oscars telecast is likely going to be the least watched ever. Who cares about these movies? Have you met a single person who roots for The Descendants' success? Or for The Artist's inevitable Best Picture win? Is there a person alive who cares about the artistic integrity of Moneyball? It does seem a bit grim.
