A wealthy New York woman kept an illegal immigrant from India as a house worker for years, paying her 85 cents an hour for nearly constant labor and making her sleep in a walk-in closet, according to a criminal complaint filed this week. Annie George allegedly promised the immigrant $1,000 a month to come from Kerala, India, and work at her $1.9 million mansion. The worker had been there 67 months before a tip to the National Human Trafficking Resource Center led to George's arrest.
