1. PROSECUTORS CHARGE ZIMMERMAN WITH SECOND-DEGREE MURDEROn Wednesday, George Zimmerman was charged with second-degree murder in the death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. He has turned himself in and is expected to plead not guilty. Legal experts note that the prosecution will face a challenge with the second-degree murder charge rather than a lesser charge of manslaughter because they'll have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Zimmerman shot Martin out of hatred or ill-will.
