Rebridling the executive

RACHEL MADDOW, the MSNBC talking head, has a new book out, "Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power". Kevin Drum of Mother Jones says that if you can get past Ms Maddow's facile cable-news snark, "there's a deadly serious argument here that deserves way more attention than it gets." The gist of her argument is that the erosion of limits on executive power has made war-making too easy and too accountable, and so barriers to war-making ought to be restored.
