We all know the Large Hadron Collider is going to bring about the end of the world some day by opening a portal to a hostile alien dimension, and will probably manage that before it manages to locate the Higgs boson. If you aren't a huge LHC fan wearing a big LHC foam hand, you probably only know the general gist of the LHC: It accelerators particles and smashes them together.
A crucial goal for the Large Hadron Collider is to find the long-sought Higgs boson. It might also create another Higgs particle that only travels through hidden dimensions, meaning it can pop in and out of any point in time. More » Read Post
What's it like to live and work in the world's most famous physics mecca? Suzanne Moore went to Geneva, Switzerland to meet the scientists who study particle physics at CERN, home of the Large Hadron Collider and the Higgs Boson — a... Read Post
I am quite happy to report today that the CMS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider has just published a new search which fills a gap in studies of extended Higgs boson sectors. It is a search for the decay of the A boson int... Read Post
