As recompense for having to sit through decades of self-satisfied documentaries about the Woodstock generation, the nefarious plan to see aging hippies die choking on their own outrage—recently begun by having Miley Cyrus and Ke$ha sing Bob Dylan songs—will roll on with a biopic about revered, iconoclastic folk singer Joni Mitchell starring Taylor Swift. Variety reports that Swift has been attached to the role of Mitchell for “months” in the upcoming Girls Like Us, a John Sayles-scripted adaptation of Sheila Weller’s book about the careers of Mitchell, Carly Simon, and Carole King.
