Arizona, Immigration, and the Supreme Court: A Dispatch from Foxnewsistan

Even before Solicitor General Donald B. Verrilli Jr. opened his mouth to argue that Arizona's harsh anti-illegal immigration law should be struck down as unconstitutional, Chief Justice John Roberts laid down a bright red line. "I just want to make clear what this law is not about," Roberts said. "No part of your argument has to do with racial or ethnic profiling, does it?" That preemptive strike on critics of Arizona's SB 1070 set the tone for today's Supreme Court arguments over whether or not four parts of the law are unconstitutional.
