According to several New York beat writers and ESPN.com, Amar'e Stoudemire apparently lost his cool after the 104-94 loss to the Heat and took his aggression out in the visitors' locker room. Frank Isola, beat writer for the New York Daily News reported:

Soon after, Marc Berman of the New York Post clarified the altercation:
Reports Amar'e punched fire extinguisher and is bleeding.
