Mariano Rivera injured his knee as he was chasing a flyball during batting practice prior to tonight's game in Kansas City. Rivera appeared to be in a considerable amount of pain, but was seen smiling as he was carted off the field.
He was initially diagnosed with a strained right knee. However, he was taken to a local hospital for an MRI.
Rivera, 42, has hinted that he will retire at the end of the season.
