Colin Powell Endorses Gay Marriage (But Not Obama)

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell told CNN Wednesday that he had "no problem" with gay marriage, but after a week of talk show appearances he's made it clear he's still not ready to endorse its latest champion, Barack Obama. The Republican famously, and somewhat surprisingly, backed him in 2008. Supporting gay marriage is also a change for Powell, who had officially been opposed to it for years.
