Anthony Chiofalo was hired in Janurary 2009 as head of legal affairs and human resources development at Houston-based Tadano America Corp., which manufactures hydraulic cranes.
Part of his job as the company's lawyer was to hire outside law firms to represent Tadano. In 2011, he approved payments totaling $9 million to a law firm for legal services.
Only problem? The law firm didn?t exist.
