Barber Wins Arizona Special Election: Ron Barber has won the special election to serve out the rest of former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ term. Barber, a Democrat, defeated Republican challenger Jesse Kelly by roughly seven points. Giffords resigned her seat in January, one year after she nearly lost her life in an assassination attempt. Barber was also critically injured in the January 2011 shooting.
