Euro 2012: Why Spanish Side Doesn't Have Enough Left in the Tank

Spain, the defending Euro and World Cup champions, don't have enough left in the tank to take the Euro 2012 cup. Ranked No. 1 in the world, they were supposed to roll through group play at 3-0 and easily advance to the quarterfinals. After their underwhelming performance against Italy, a side who had to bring an extra cargo plane to Poland just to handle their off-field baggage, it's clear that this is not the same Spanish squad that won the two previous competitions.
