It's trite, but accurate: Paula Abdul is forever my girl. Today is the singer/choreographer's 50th birthday, and while the last decade redefined her as Simon Cowell's affable sideick, I think she's a kickass pop icon for plenty of other reasons. Her innocent, but nervy effervescence made her a compelling dancer and performer, and she delivered some of the best music videos of the late '80s and early '90s.
