I first came across Carpenter at the Philadelphia Folk Festival around 1987 or '88. She was flogging a few cuts on a 45 rpm-size disk as a promotion that, I think, would later appear on her Hometown Girl album, which was her first.
As a longtime fan of Mary Chapin Carpenter, I'm pleased to report that she's releasing a new album today called The Age of Miracles. Her last few albums have been heavy on the slow songs, but on this go-round, she picks up the tempo... Read Post
