American Brandt Snedeker, who has never made the cut at the Open Championship, has jumped to a four-shot lead this morning at Royal Lytham & St. Annes.
Snedeker shot a 66 in the first round, and is 4-under through the first nine today.
Rory McIlroy started the day 3-under but has since fallen back to even par, carding three bogeys and a double bogey through 11 holes.
As of right now, the projected cut line is at 2-over, but that could change depending on the weather conditions — which aren't as friendly as in round one.
