Tributes flood in for ITN newsreader Alastair Burnet

The ITN anchor and editor of The Economist has died at the age of 84 First Reaction LAST UPDATED AT 15:12 ON Fri 20 Jul 2012 TRIBUTES have flooded in after former ITN newsreader Alastair Burnet died at the age of 84. He was best-known for presenting the ITN news and fronted the first ever edition of the News at Ten in 1967, he read his final bulletin in 1991. His family said that he died at a nursing home in Kensington after a series of strokes.
