The film in the works for some time, Deadline reports that the J.J. Abrams-produced Earthquake has brought aboard Dustin Lance Black ( Milk, J. Edgar ) to provide the screenplay.
Originally planned to be written by David Seltzer ( The Omen ), Earthquake is not intended to be a remake of Universal's 1974 film, though it will share the central premise of a tectonic disaster on a massive scale.
