At Bridgewater Associates, the world's largest hedge fund, there are few secrets. All meetings are filmed, and the footage is available to everyone in the company. Employees rate each other's performance via proprietary iPad apps, and they can be fired for criticizing colleagues behind their backs rather than to their faces. This culture of "radical transparency" was established by founder and chairman Ray Dalio and captured in "Principles," a manual of 210 lessons that all employees must read.
