Newswire: Supergirl gets picked up for a second season—on The CW

Though the stakes haven’t been as high as they were in DC’s Crisis On Infinite Earths (the comic that killed off Supergirl in the ’80s), CBS’ Supergirl series has still been fighting for its life almost since it premiered last October. In November, a rumor came out that Supergirl’s ratings weren’t looking good enough to warrant a second season, but CBS was apparently banking on the possibility of a crossover with The CW’s The Flash to give it a little boost.
