If Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s goal was to win black voters at Monday night’s debate against Hillary Clinton at Hofstra University, he failed miserably. Trump managed to insult black voters by making blanket statements (like implying all black people live in inner cities), suggesting that stop-and-frisk reduces crime (it actually disproportionately targets black and Hispanic men), and denying that systematic racism is at the root of the “bad things” ? like the inner city violence ? he often referred to.
