Technologists are fond of talking about software in terms of its existence both as a ‘product’ and a ‘platform’. Software as a platform is differentiated (from a mere product) when it has enough breadth to shoulder, support and present a smaller piece of supplementary or ancillary software technology. But now we must embrace the notion of a technology fabric or more usually a ‘data fabric’.
