‘Empire,’ CBS and NBC lead premiere week: Broadcast Top 25 and network rankings

The first week of the 2016-17 TV season is in the books — and the top of the rankings look a lot like they did last fall. Live NFL games on NBC and CBS hold the Top 2 spots in both adults 18-49 and viewers. “Empire” held its No. 1 spot among all other shows in the 18-49 demographic with a 4.2 rating, and the premiere of “NCIS” (16 million) was the top non-NFL show in total viewers.
