How to turn on/off read receipts in macOS Sierra’s Messages

When you are using Messages, Read Receipts let the person you are communicating with know when you have received and read their message. If, for whatever reason, you want to change this so that you are not sending a read receipt, you can modify it in the Messages app. It’s important to note that this works only if both users on the chat are using Messages, either on the Mac or on an iOS device.
