Should the Arts District still be called the Arts District when artists can’t afford to live there?

Let’s rename it. Artists began flocking to the Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles decades ago, at a time when it was a veritable ghost town of abandoned warehouses and factories. With that, came an abundance of cheap studio space where artists could thrive. In recent years, the neighborhood has gone through a radical change, transforming from a refuge for artists into a hot spot for real estate developers.
