Cost-benefit analysis of strategies against severely harmful giant hogweed in Germany

(Pensoft Publishers) Invasive species, such as the giant hogweed, largely spread across Germany, are not only a primary driver of biodiversity loss. They also pose risks to public health. Since 2015, EU member states are obligated to develop concrete action plans against the spread of invasive alien species. To help policymakers gather adequate knowledge, German researchers analyze the situation, control measures and cost-effectiveness of various eradication strategies and publish their findings in the open-access journal NeoBiota.
