A Toddler Tragically Lost His Life After Being Left in a Hot Car by His Day Care

In yet another tragedy related to children forgotten in hot cars, a 2-year-old was found dead after a day-care employee accidentally left him in a transportation vehicle for six hours. According to the Miami Herald, Vision of Life Academy's owner, Karen Julissa Aviles, picked up a group of children that included Angel Matute-Chavez as well as his 8-year-old brother. She reportedly told police that when they arrived back at the day-care facility, she hurried out of the vehicle because she was running late for a meeting and asked another employee to get the children from the van.
