River City Pride Calls for Update to Jacksonville’s Human Rights Ordinance

We saw an historic first this weekend in Jacksonville as members of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office marched in the River City Pride parade. Last week, the JSO updated their non-discrimination policy to protect LGBTQ employees along with other city agencies. It was great to see JSO officers join thousands of LGBTQ and allied people at pride this weekend. HRC was proud to partner with Equality Florida and the Jacksonville Coalition for Equality during River City Pride to encourage pride attendees to make their voices heard in support of updating Jacksonville's Human Rights Ordinance (HRO) to include sexual orientation and gender identity.
