Texas Instruments: an NXP Buy Could Boost Stock to $80, Says Nomura

The Street today continues to reflect on the prospects for a buyout of NXP Semiconductors (NXPI), which has been the subject of takeover speculation by Qualcomm (QCOM). But with word late Friday that NXP has begun a “formal sale process,” the field opens up to other parties that one can imagine. Romit Shah with Nomura today writes that he thinks it’s worth contemplating Texas Instruments (TXN) as a buyer.
