Jose Mourinho Was My Idol, I Loved Him Until We Fell Out, Says Andre Villas-Boas

Jose Mourinho’s former assistant Andre Villas-Boas has revealed how he loved and idolized his boss but, ultimately, felt “blinded” by him. Villas-Boas joined Mourinho’s coaching staff at Porto in 2002, and followed him on to Chelsea and Inter Milan before forging his own career when the two fell out. But the 38-year-old, whose last job was as manager of Russian outfit Zenit Saint Petersburg, has lifted the lid on what it is like to work on Mourinho’s coaching staff.
