Detroit will be without its starting point guard to start the season. Detroit Pistons point guard Reggie Jackson could miss 6-8 weeks due to knee tendonitis that has bothered him for years, coach Stan Van Gundy told assembled media. The Pistons are exploring their options to find short-term help at the position while Jackson heals, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein. Offseason signee Ish Smith will step in as the starting point guard, but Detroit could now use a backup.
