?Latest subscription box casualty: D.C.’s The District Club

WASHINGTON — While no one’s really sure whether the subscription box bubble is bursting, a D.C.-area closure might be an indication that the market for the service is at least deflating. The District Club, a service that delivered a locally made product monthly to subscribers, notified members that it had sent its final boxes in September. District Club was actually born out of another service, Nicely, which was an app that allowed users to surprise friends in the D.
