A researcher with UC Davis died in Ethiopia after antigovernment protesters stoned a van she was riding in, officials said Wednesday.
Sharon Gray, a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Plant Biology, was killed by a rock Tuesday while traveling in a car near Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa, said Andy Fell, a university spokesman.
Another member of the plant biology department was also on the trip but not injured, university officials said.
