With no rate hike in September, investors are still stuck in a seemingly endless low yield environment, and dividends—another popular source of income—actually saw declining growth in the last quarter, according to S&P Dow Jones Indices, which recorded $6 billion in dividend net increases, down from $10 billion in the third quarter of 2015 and $7.3 billion in the second quarter of this year.
