Panthers still don't know if Cam Newton will play on Monday night

The Carolina Panthers face what might be a must-win game on Monday, but they don’t know yet if they’ll have their most indispensable player. Quarterback Cam Newton missed a second straight day of practice Thursday. Newton is in the concussion protocol after taking a huge hit from Atlanta Falcons linebacker Deion Jones in Sunday’s defeat. On that play, Newton thought he had a free path to the end zone on a two-point conversion so he slowed up.
