Benioff tries to dazzle as Twitter takeover talk whipsaws the stock

SAN FRANCISCO — At Dreamforce, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff and top executives placed the company's new AI-inspired assistant, Einstein, front and center in a two-hour showcase that featured an animated rendering of the famous scientist, traditional Hawaiian chanters, a bevy of monks and a discussion with the performing artist But surrounding the company's big show was merger and acquisition intrigue, spurred in large part by an appearance by Benioff earlier in the day on CNBC.
