Hurricane Matthew Closes In On Florida After Killing Hundreds In Caribbean

Hurricane Matthew is expected to be a category 4 or 5 storm when it hits the Florida coast Thursday night. Florida Gov. Rick Scott urged 1.5 million people to evacuate, and more than 12 million people on the east coast are under a hurricane watch. The hurricane killed more than 280 people in Haiti, before moving on to the Bahamas and Florida. Matthew, the first major hurricane threatening a direct hit on the United States in more than 10 years, blasted the Bahamas on Thursday as it headed for Florida after killing at least 283 people in the Caribbean, mostly in Haiti.
