Stocks closed little changed on Friday after the jobs report showed a smaller gain than expected. The S&P 500 logged a weekly loss for the first time in four weeks. First, the scoreboard: Dow: 18,240.49, -28.01, (-0.15%) S&P 500: 2,153.74, -7.03, (-0.33%) Nasdaq: 5,292.40, -14.45, (-0.27%) The US economy added 156,000 jobs in September, fewer than the 172,000 expected. The unemployment rate rose to 5% as labor-force participation also improved.
