Daytona says Hurricane Matthew caused 'moderate' damage

Daytona said suffered damage to signage, palm trees and more. (Getty) Daytona International Speedway said Friday afternoon it had suffered some damage from Hurricane Matthew. The hurricane impacted the Daytona Beach area starting early Friday morning. “Daytona International Speedway experienced moderate damage from Hurricane Matthew with impacts to lights, speakers, signage, fences, gates, awnings and palm trees,” a statement from the track said.
