Computer error killed the brakes in SF Muni bus crash

A computer error — a circuit failure that affected the brakes — was found to be the cause of a Muni bus crash into the back of a delivery truck, city officials said, raising questions about the condition of a group of older buses that are being replaced. The 3-Jackson bus plowed into the back of the parked truck Monday morning in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood, near the intersection of Jackson and Scott streets.
